Hello & Welcome to 4th Grade at Throop Elementary! I am very excited that you are here.
A little about myself... I am a former student of Throop Elementary and a 2005 PHS graduate. After high school, I attended Indiana University Southeast to become a teacher. This this is my third year teaching at Throop and fifth overall. Previously I taught 4th grade at Turkey Run Elementary School and 6th grade at Scribner Middle School in New Albany, IN. I am very excited to be back in my hometown teaching, especially with the new roll out of 1:1 Chromebooks!
I currently live in Paoli with my beautiful wife Amanda and our two children. Our son Marshall is 5 years old and attends Throop as a Kindergarten student. He loves playing on his new swing-set, Lego's, and car/trucks. Remi is our little girl. She is now 19 months and growing like a weed. She is definitely and daddy's girl, but I'm okay with that!
Some of my favorite things outside of teaching at Throop Elementary include: attending church and being with my family. I also enjoy outdoorsy things like hunting and sports. My favorite teams include the Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Reds, Indiana University & Syracuse University basketball. (I was actually born in Syracuse so that's why.)
Lastly, I believe that your student can learn. It is my goal that your student will be successful in all that they will do this year so they are prepared for the 5th and future grades of their educational career. It may be challenging for both the students and me, but my only job as a teacher is to do whatever to help the students succeed, and I am passionately committed to that.
